Painter rolling a bright room with a ladder and drop sheets

Residential services: Interior painting for Ottawa homes

Walls, ceilings, trim and doors, painted by a respectful crew that leaves your home cleaner than we found it.

A clean job in a lived-in home

You're living in the house while we work, so we treat it that way. Floors, furniture and fixtures are covered before any paint is opened, the work area is kept tidy, and the site is cleaned up at the end of every day so your home still feels like your home.

Prep comes first

Most of a lasting finish is preparation. Before any paint goes on:

  • Nail holes, cracks and dents are filled and sanded
  • Walls are cleaned and damaged drywall is repaired
  • Bare patches and stains are primed
  • Trim, outlets and anything that shouldn't be painted are taped off or removed
  • Floors and furniture are covered

Then walls, ceilings, trim and doors get the coats they need for an even colour and a clean line.

Choosing the right sheen

Sheen matters as much as colour. Flat and matte finishes hide imperfections and suit ceilings and quieter rooms. Eggshell and satin are easier to wipe clean, which makes them a good choice for hallways, kitchens and kids' rooms. Semi-gloss is hard-wearing and suits trim, doors and bathrooms. We'll suggest a sheen for each room.

Colour advice, if you want it

Not sure about colours? We can help you choose, from a single accent wall to a whole-house scheme, and look at samples on your walls before you commit.

For bedrooms, nurseries or anyone sensitive to smells, we can use low- or zero-VOC paints from the major manufacturers. Just ask at the quote stage.

What to expect on the day

  • We arrive at the agreed time and walk the rooms with you
  • Protection goes down before any tools come out
  • Repairs and prep first, primer where it is needed, then the finish coats
  • Each day ends with a tidy, usable room
  • A final walk-through with you before we call it done

A good job for the Ottawa winter

Interior painting doesn't depend on the weather, so late fall and winter are a good time to book: dates are easier to get, and your rooms are finished before spring.

Small jobs welcome

One room or the whole house, the standard is the same: protected floors, prepared surfaces, a tidy site every day and a walk-through with you before we call it done.

Interior Painting FAQ

Questions we get about this work.

Anything else? Ask us or call and we'll answer straight away.

Do I need to move my furniture?

Furniture is covered and protected as part of the job, and we'll work with you on anything that needs moving. Fragile or valuable items are best put away before we arrive.

Do you paint ceilings and trim too?

Yes. Walls, ceilings, trim, doors and frames can all go in the same quote.

Can you remove stipple before painting?

Yes. We remove stipple (popcorn) ceilings and finish them smooth, and it's often done just before an interior repaint.

How long does it take to paint a room?

Most single rooms take a day or two, depending on repairs, ceiling height and how many coats the colour change needs. The schedule comes with the quote.

Can you paint while we live in the house?

Yes. Most of our residential work is in occupied homes. We work room by room and keep the rest of the house usable.

Which sheen should I choose?

Flat or matte for ceilings and quieter rooms, eggshell or satin for hallways, kitchens and kids' rooms, and semi-gloss for trim, doors and bathrooms. We'll recommend one for each room.
