Finished school gymnasium with school-colour feature band and fresh white walls

Commercial services: School and institutional painting in Ottawa

Classrooms, corridors, libraries, gyms and offices in schools and public buildings, painted during breaks, evenings and weekends.

Built around the school calendar

Schools can't close for painting, so the work fits into the time the building is quiet: summer break, the winter and March breaks, PA days, evenings and weekends. We plan the order of rooms with your facilities staff and commit to a finish date in writing, so classrooms are ready when students come back.

What we paint

  • Classrooms and resource rooms
  • Corridors, stairwells and entrance lobbies
  • Libraries and learning commons
  • Gymnasiums, change rooms and multipurpose rooms
  • Offices, staff rooms and washrooms
  • Doors, frames, railings and metal trim
  • Building exteriors, doors and trim

Finishes for heavy use

School corridors and classrooms take more wear than almost any other building. We use scrubbable finishes that stand up to daily cleaning in corridors and classrooms, harder enamels on doors, frames and railings, and moisture-resistant finishes in washrooms and change rooms.

Colour is welcome too. We've painted children's spaces in bold, durable colour, and feature walls in libraries, kindergarten rooms and common areas are a regular part of our school work.

Low-odour products and safe sites

When a building is in use, or students return soon after we finish, we can specify low- or zero-VOC products so rooms smell less and are ready sooner. Work areas are closed off, ladders and products are never left unattended, and we follow your site rules for keys, access and sign-in.

The paperwork school boards expect

Formal quotes against your RFP or tender documents, written scopes for approval, WSIB and liability insurance certificates, and references on request. Every job ends with a walk-through with your facilities staff and a sign-off.

Planning the summer window

School boards tend to want the same summer weeks, and most plan their summer work in the spring. If your building is on the list, contact us early so we can visit, quote and lock in dates before the summer fills up.

Other public and institutional buildings

The same approach works for community centres, libraries, recreation facilities and other public buildings that stay open: phased areas, after-hours work where it helps, and a clean, safe site at the end of every shift.

Schools & Institutional Buildings FAQ

Questions we get about this work.

Anything else? Ask us or call and we'll answer straight away.

Can you paint classrooms over the summer?

Yes. Summer break is our busiest window for school work. Contact us in the spring so we can visit, quote and book your dates.

Can you work during the school year?

Yes. Smaller areas can be done in the evenings, on weekends and on PA days, with each room left clean and usable before students return.

Do you use low-VOC paint in schools?

We can, and we recommend it for occupied buildings. Low- and zero-VOC products from the major manufacturers are available in most finishes.

Do you respond to school board tenders?

Yes. We price public RFPs and tenders, and we can provide references along with insurance and WSIB certificates.

Do you paint gymnasiums too?

Yes. Gym walls, trim, school colours and safety markings are a regular part of our school work, usually done over the summer break.

Who do we deal with during the job?

One point of contact from the site visit to sign-off, with our own crews on site.
